What does volunteering as a learning facilitator involve?
Learning facilitators provide support to learners in the classroom either to individuals or small groups. This support may be targeted to learners who may have learning difficulties and or just to provide general support.
The tutor and learning facilitator normally meet 15 minutes before the lesson begins to discuss the plans for the session and how the tutor would like you to facilitate. Then again at the end of the session so you can both reflect and share information to enable plans to be made for the next lesson.
It is a fun and rewarding experience. You may find that it is a career path you would like to pursue. If you require a reference for further education or work purposes we would be happy to help.
